Base Image

Talisman builds each integration into a container image with Jib. The default base image is registry.access.redhat.com/hi/openjdk:25-runtime. You can use your own, for example an image from your internal registry or one with your corporate CA certificates.

Edit build.sh in the Configuration project and change the -Djib.from.image argument. If an environment has its own script, <env>.build.sh next to build.sh (for example test.build.sh), that environment uses it instead of build.sh: edit it too.

JIB_ARGS=(
  "-Djib.from.image=registry.example.com/base/openjdk:25-runtime"
  ...
)

The generated pipeline doesn't set JIB_FROM_IMAGE: add it to the talisman-builder step, where JIB_FROM_PLATFORMS is set.

  • GitHub Actions: add it to the workflow's env block and pass it to the builder container with -e JIB_FROM_IMAGE in the docker run command, next to -e JIB_FROM_PLATFORMS.
  • Azure Pipelines: add it as a pipeline variable, next to JIB_FROM_PLATFORMS. Plain variables reach the builder step as environment variables.
# GitHub Actions workflow
env:
  JIB_FROM_PLATFORMS: linux/amd64
  JIB_FROM_IMAGE: registry.example.com/base/openjdk:25-runtime

When JIB_FROM_IMAGE is not set, talisman-builder uses the default base image.

Note

The base image must provide a Java 25 runtime.
